yet has not gone away.
It will always stay a part of us,
until we join you one day.So today on your very special birthday,
we send all our love and wishes to you.
Even though you’re with the angels in Heaven,
always remember, we’re still with you too.
This day we celebrate you, Caitlyn and we celebrate your life. We know you are still here everyday cheering us on. The gift of giving is something you have taught us and you also taught us how knowledge can change everything. The FIGHT Scholarship in your honor is your gift back to all of us.

October 2011

- Caitlyn (right) on Class Color Day – October 2008
It’s officially fall and October is already upon us. The days and nights are getting cooler, the leaves are changing and thoughts of family and friends are on our minds with the holidays just around the corner.
October is a bittersweet month for the Caitlyn’s FIGHT family. Sweet memories of Caitlyn as a carefree teenager in the beginnings of her freshman year of high school enjoying life to its fullest like any other 14 yr old girl – combined with the bitter memories of losing her just one short year later to a horrific disease that strikes way too many children.
As most of you know, Caitlyn’s FIGHT was formed in memory of Caitlyn with a mission to give back to those who gave their support to us during her illness and to ‘pay it forward’ as best we can by assisting other families living through the financial and emotional devastation of having a child diagnosed with cancer.
In the spirit of this mission, the Caitlyn’s FIGHT family has started the fall season off in a whirlwind of activity. Last Saturday we participated in The Children’s Cancer Fund 14th Annual Walk and Sunday was spent at the Putnam Valley Lions Club Fall Festival. The proceeds from both of these events go to supporting good causes and it was a privilege to be a part of them.
These two events were just the beginning. We have a lot of other exciting and fun-filled things planned and we hope you will join us for the festivities! On November 6th we’ll be attending Make A Wish’s 6th Annual Walk & 5K Run for Wishes and on November 11th we’re really looking forward to hosting our own Wine Tasting fundraiser at Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Don’t be left out! Keep up with our latest news, announcements and updates by subscribing to our blog, visiting our Facebook page or following Caitlyn’s FIGHT on Twitter. In addition to our news and events, we’ll also be sharing old photos of Caitlyn which we know you’ll enjoy seeing and joining us as we reminisce.
Caitlyn Honored at St. Baldrick’s Eisai Corporation Event
St. Baldrick’s Foundation events often honor children and families whose lives have been deeply affected by childhood cancer. These informal events raise funds for childhood cancer research and show solidarity for children with cancer.
Eisai Corporation sponsored one of these events on Monday, August 15th at their employee family picnic in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. They wanted to honor Caitlyn at this private St. Baldrick’s event and invited me to be the guest speaker. We want to thank St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Eisai Corporation and all those in attendance for giving us this opportunity to honor Caitlyn and share her story.
